MelodyLane help & frequently asked questions
Answers about MelodyLane smart links, pre-saves, fan capture, handles, custom domains, insights, pricing and billing.
Getting started
What is MelodyLane and who is it for?
MelodyLane gives artists one shareable page for every release. Fans open it and pick the service they already use, join your fan club, pre-save the next drop or follow you — all from a single address. It's built for independent artists, bands, producers and podcasters.
Do I need a distributor or a label?
No. If your music is already public anywhere, paste that link and we fill in the title, artwork and every other service we can find. You can also add destinations by hand.
How do I create my first page?
Sign up free, open Campaigns, choose New campaign, paste a link or pick a starting point, then publish. Most first pages take under five minutes.
Can I try it without paying?
Yes. The free plan is unlimited for smart links and pages on your MelodyLane handle. Pro is optional.
Smart links and pages
Which streaming services are supported?
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and YouTube Music, SoundCloud, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal, Bandcamp, Audiomack and more. Anything we don't list can be added as a custom button.
Can I remove or hide services I don't use?
Yes. Every destination has a switch to hide it temporarily and a Remove button to take it off completely. You can add it back at any time.
Can I turn the song preview off?
Yes. The song preview section can be switched off so the page loads silently.
Can I change the cover art and colors?
Upload your own artwork and pick an accent color. The page uses your artwork as the background and your accent color on buttons.
Where does the blurred background color come from?
It's your own cover art, enlarged and blurred behind a dark veil, so every page automatically matches the release without you choosing colors.
Can I add merch, tickets, tour dates or podcast buttons?
Yes. The Add to your page area lets you add extra buttons, tour dates, podcast links, a future-release sign-up and an unlock reward. Each one can be renamed, reordered or switched off.
Can I edit a page after I've shared it?
Always. Edits go live instantly and the address never changes, so links you've already posted keep working.
Pre-saves and release day
How do pre-saves work?
You publish a pre-save page before the music is out. Fans sign up, and the page shows a countdown to the release moment.
What happens automatically on release day?
When the release date and time arrive, the page switches itself into a live smart link with your listening buttons. You don't have to be online.
Can I schedule a page before the music is out?
Yes. Set the release date when you create the campaign and share the address straight away.
Fans and email
How does fan email capture work?
A Fan Club row on your page invites listeners to leave an email. It's a Pro feature and it appears at the moment fans care most — right after they've clicked through to listen.
Where does my fan list live and can I export it?
Every campaign has a Fans view in your dashboard with the full list and a CSV export, so the audience is yours to keep.
Do fans get an unsubscribe option?
Yes. Every fan can unsubscribe from a link on the confirmation, and opt-outs are recorded on the list.
Is this GDPR-friendly?
Sign-ups require explicit consent, unsubscribes are honoured, and you can delete any fan record. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Handles, domains and short links
What is a handle and can I change it?
Your handle is the free part of your address, like pulsewave.link/yourname/your-song. Change it any time under Your handle — older addresses stop working once you switch, so update anything you've already posted.
How do I connect my own domain?
Custom domains are a Pro feature. On the Custom domain page, enter your domain, add the two DNS records we show you at your domain provider, then press Check status. Signed in? Open the step-by-step guide 'How To Connect Your Custom Domain' from your Custom domain or Plan & billing page — it has instructions for GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, Cloudflare and Wix.
How long does domain verification take?
Usually minutes, but DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to spread. Press Check status again after a while — nothing breaks in the meantime.
What are short links and do they count taps?
The Short links page turns any web address into a short MelodyLane address and counts every tap, so you can track posts, bios and printed codes.
Insights
What do you track?
Page views, taps on each destination, pre-saves, unlocks and fan sign-ups. We don't collect names, precise locations or anything that identifies an individual fan beyond an email they chose to give you.
Why don't my numbers match Spotify?
We count taps that leave your page. Streaming services count plays, and not everyone who taps presses play — so the numbers are related but never identical.
What's the difference between free and Pro insights?
Free shows your pages are live and working. Pro adds the click and sign-up breakdowns per destination, plus fan email capture.
Plans and billing
What's the difference between free and Pro?
Free covers unlimited smart links, your handle address, the song preview and the share kit. Pro adds fan email capture, click and sign-up insights, a custom domain, priority support and help calls.
How much is Pro?
$8.00 a month, or $86.40 a year — the yearly option saves 10%. There is also a Lifetime option: $260 once, and you keep everything for life, including new features as they launch.
Can I switch between monthly and yearly?
Yes. Open Plan & billing and choose the other cycle; the change is handled through the billing portal.
How do I cancel, and what happens to my links?
Cancel any time from Plan & billing. Your pages stay online — they simply fall back to your free handle address and Pro-only features switch off at the end of the paid period.
Which payment methods do you accept, and can I get a receipt?
Payments run through Stripe, which accepts major cards and local methods where available. Every payment emails a receipt, and past invoices are in the billing portal.
Account and troubleshooting
How do I reset my password?
Choose Forgot password on the sign-in page and we'll email you a reset link.
Can I manage more than one artist?
Yes. Add each act under Artists and every campaign is filed under the right name.
My link preview image isn't showing when I share it.
Social apps cache previews. Make sure the page has artwork uploaded, then re-share; some apps need a few minutes or a fresh link to refresh the image.
A button sends fans to the wrong place.
Open the campaign, find the destination in the list and paste the correct address. The fix is live as soon as you save.
How do I delete my account and data?
Write to us from the Contact page and we'll remove your account, pages and fan data. Deletion is permanent.
